Rural Junior Science Camp（下面简称“科学营”）是爱心天使在持续的助学实践过程中，总结发现乡村学校科学教育（特别是实验动手环节）是一个薄弱甚至空白的领域，因而发起的有针对的特色公益助学项目。团队15名核心队员均来自西北师范大学，希望为乡村学生带去课堂上学不到的知识及外界关怀同时，拓宽孩子们的视野，让学生们爱上科学，敢于提出问题，积极动手尝试。从长远看，希望有更多的组织参与进来使立体化的科学类课程在落后地区真正开设起来。

甘肃地区经济发展水平与不及东部地区，在地方对教育的经费投入相对较低，这里开设《科学》课程，但只是理论上的开设，对于教材中大量的实验课多数学校则由于没有器材而被迫放弃，课程开设效果不明显，学生的动手能力差，不能再实验探究中启发思考，从某种程度看也制约当地教育水平的提高。
