作者首先写的是来自水龙头的故事。在十五六世纪，像巴黎这样的城市，居民每天也只能用一桶水，看到这些我在想：他们有天天洗澡吗？有天天打扫房间吗？有天天洗衣服吗？我也没多想，继续看了下去。当时，他们都很少换衣服，一个月只换一件或两件，晚上睡觉都是光着身子入睡的。而且那里的城市存在一个问题，就是没有下水道，脏水都是从窗户直接泼到街道上的。脏水会流到市中心的沟里。经过那儿的人都会强忍着脏水沟的难闻味道，而疾步走过。

里面还写了水能把房屋炸毁，看到这儿，我真是满脑子问号。里面还写了一个事故，德国有22个蒸汽锅同时爆炸，把周边的房屋都炸毁了。蒸汽锅的碎片甚至飞到了距离爆炸地点半公里以外的地方。水的力量真是太大了！
